Flattened textile semicircle

As for its maintenance requirement, we recommended yearly cleaning of the textile branch, and offered to carry this maintenance out ourselves.

In another case study, we have already discussed the advantages of quarter circle, shaped and anemostat type textile ventilation solutions and the modes and possibilities of their use. We find it important to note that there exists a version commonly known as the “flattened semicircle” shape, which is also a good solution for the fresh air supply and cooling of rooms with low ceiling heights.

It is common knowledge that the supply of fresh air not only improves employees’ concentration, but is also vital for physiological reasons, not to mention the draught-free air supply, which is indispensable in office environments as well! With our products, we pursue perfect harmony – a work environment which not only makes working life easier, but also focuses on safeguarding health.

An automotive company based in northern Hungary tasked us recently with the modernisation of their entire ventilation system in their offices, of a total surface of 1000 m², and the replacement of their existing metal anemostat distribution outlets with a more modern textile system.

As usual, we offered the client several options to choose from, of course, bearing the customer’s needs in mind. In meeting this professionally pleasant building services design challenge, we prioritised the distribution of the processed air as smoothly and as free of draught as possible. For this reason, our choice was the flattened semicircle-shaped duct. Throughout the project, we needed to make a distinction between the branches responsible for fresh air and those in charge of supplying chilled air. Thus, we offered our client various colours, out of which two colours were selected that also appear in their logo.

Needless to say, the fabrication was preceded by numerous tests, to make sure we had chosen the best possible arrangement of perforations. Achieving this goal, our own EXANDAIR test lab was a great help to test multiple operating states of particular types of textile air ducts at the same time, such as the amount and temperature of injected air, the height of the textile air duct branch. The facility also features a section fitted with a raster suspended ceiling to model an office environment.

Our flattened semicircle systems are installed in the same way as our conventional semicircle systems, involving the use of the same P-profile rails, which perfectly fit existing suspended ceiling rasters even if the diameter of the EXANDAIR air duct is smaller than the width of the given suspended ceiling raster. The rails were fixed to the existing grid system using self-tapping screws. The suspension thus created was used to pull in the prefabricated textile air duct branch, and tie it into the existing ventilation system.

Our pictures show the end result, which satisfied everybody, meaning that we were given the green light to fabricating the ducts chosen for the project. The ducts were expected to treat the air they circulate smoothly and free of draught, thereby contributing to the supply of fresh air. A safe and simple-to-use system, which even incapable hands cannot misadjust, guaranteeing long years of optimum operation. As for its maintenance requirement, the yearly cleaning of the textile branch is recommended, which we offer to carry out ourselves.
